Marmon Truck Corporation was a manufacturer of heavy-duty trucks that operated from 1963 to 1997. It was initially founded as the Marmon-Herrington Company, which produced four-wheel-drive trucks. In 1963, the company was renamed Marmon Truck Corporation after it was purchased by the Pritzker family.
Marmon Trucks were known for their custom-built engines and innovative designs. They were initially produced in Garland, Texas, before being moved to a factory in Indianapolis in 1968. Marmon Truck Corporation continued to innovate throughout its history, introducing hydraulic retarders, electronic fuel injection, and aluminum cabs.
In 1997, Marmon Truck Corporation was purchased by Volvo Trucks and ceased production. Today, some Marmon Trucks can be found in museums or are still in operation as collector's items.
